last week we had our fourth nor'easter in three weeks. i'm really ready for spring, but this snowfall was awfully pretty. i ended up near central park the morning after and went on a photo walk. please to enjoy.
It was SO great to do the Women's March in NYC yesterday. Or should I say, it was great to walk the pre-start line walk? Oof. We got to the American Museum of Natural History a little before noon, then waited over an hour just to get into the main march line. We bailed at 63rd street around 4:00. Never even made it to the official march start line at Columbus Circle. Oh, well. That's what happens when you're marching with a 6-year old and with a chronic illness.
All that said, it was still amazing and so inspiring! I especially love all of the clever signs. Here are some of my favorites. :)
My friend, Stephanie, makes amazing annual videos made up of one second for every single day. Here are hers for 2016, 2015, and 2014. I've always loved that she does them, but couldn't commit to compiling the annual video on my own. When I saw that Elise was using the 1 second everyday app, I downloaded it and started saving snippets back in 2016. Some problems with my iPhone led me to lose the bulk of my videos from Spring 2016, which was a bummer. But when January 1, 2017 rolled around, I was raring to go. I didn't miss a single day and am thrilled to share my completed 2017 video here! I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

I tend to be light on the journalling and heavy on the photos, as you can see in my 2016 album. Hopefully to incorporate more writing in to this year's album!
I loved using the Paislee Press mini kit last year and am doing the same again this year. I also LOVED having a space at the end of my album to store all of the wonderful photo holiday cards I received as well as a few special non-photo ones, too.
Happy Almost Holidays! :)
hey, blog, long time no see. sorry about that. but now, suddenly, it's almost summer! for real! and boden is having a great 30% off sale this weekend. woo hoo! here are some fun, summery picks for you. enjoy!
My friends, Xanthe and Andrea, have hosted a photography color challenge on Instagram for the past few winters. Reminiscent of my and Dani's Sixty-Four Colors project, Color/Colour Lovers invites everyone to search for a specific color. This is especially welcome during the cold and dreary days of February (although this year has been particularly mild in the Northeast!).
For the first three years, they assigned each week a color, but this year, they mixed up by assigning each day of the week a specific color. It was nice to change up the format and have a daily reminder to search out some fun hues.
From the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
Happy holidays! Here is a fun little printable to brighten up your walls. Simply click on the image to enlarge, then right-click to save. Enjoy!
