project life - weeks 13 & 14

oh, project life. i heart you. and i promise to catch up blogging about you. eventually.

remember back in march when the mega millions was $640 million? yeah, i didn't win, either.

not too many photos this week, but lots of great stuff, like the business card from kelly's birthday dinner at momofuku, alice's gorgeous letterpress card and screenshots of twitter & pinterest. throw in some martha stewart labels and washi tape and call it good.

+++++++

week 14 was one of my favorites. i absolutely LOVE the week or two in april when everything is in bloom. the magnolias, cherry blossoms, lilac, tulips . . . le sigh.

i love that project life lets me keep and showcase things like the map from the botanic garden. it was fun to cut it up to make it fit in the page protector.

lots of fun meet ups this week! got to meet the lovely pei and see my sick chick club ladies.

i really, really love how this page turned out.

had to document the awesome texts from hillary meme. it was so good while it lasted.

+++++++

this week, i'm linked up with the mom creative. check out all of the great PL links over there.

project life - weeks 10 & 11

thankfully, i am only behind on posting about project life. my book itself is currently up to date. woo hoo!

let's travel back in time and see what was going on in march, m'kay?

this was the week that i finally got my hair cut. i also took olivia to visit my office and my husband's office, so we were on the subway a lot. i printed off part of the MTA map to note that bit.

my stylist is due any day now. she had the cutest baby bump when i saw her last month. also, please note that a hair cut with nick arrojo is $500. zomg.

it was so nice to be out and about in soho. i stopped in to uniqlo and picked up a pretty orla kiely scarf. olivia turned 3 months old that week and we had lunch at five guys over the weekend. i snagged a gift card holder to tuck some journaling in to.

i had some miscellaneous bits left over, so i tucked them in to this vellum envelope and sealed with washi tape.

week 11 marked my final days of maternity leave, olivia's first day at day care and my return to work.

this was also the first week that i used an insert!

i used a file place holder to make notes about work and a smash card to note our current favorite TV shows. i also did some journaling directly on to a photo in photoshop for the first time.

this was a busy week made even more exciting by the fact that i was interviewed in the new york post for an article about pinterest! this is the kind of thing that makes me love project life even more than normal. i would have definitely kept the article, but it would probably end up stuck in a box or file somewhere. this way, it has a safe place and i can look at it whenever the mood strikes.

fun bits from the week: a business card from the cupcake shop and a photo of the bill cunningham documentary dvd.

project life - february

i am totally in love with project life. i'm always looking for cards and things to pick up when i'm out and about, but now that they have a definite place to live, it's even more fun. printing off tv show posters and book covers is really great to keep track of what we've been watching & reading. and of course, there are a zillion pictures of olivia. but that's part of the point, right?

finally meeting kelly in person was great and it totally prompted me to play around with cutting up large photos to fit in to the page protectors.

absolutely LOVING project life.

project life

i think i first heard about project life on ali's blog. then, i saw that elise and kelly were giving it a go this year and thought it looked really fun. sadly, the main page protectors were sold out, so i was going to have to wait for a while. but then kelly came to the rescue! she sent me a few page protectors, so i was able to go back and fill in january and get started on february. i love it so much already!! can hardly wait to see how the year unfolds. and i am especially excited to be documenting olivia's first year.

here is what i have so far for january:

it was fun to print off instagram shots in different sizes to add to the pages. and i'm always up for dipping in to my washi tape supply to pretty things up. i purchased the clementine core kit, but i'm also looking forward to using some of my paper supply, like that pretty aqua one from paper source.

i made these weekly title cards in photoshop after seeing something similar on katrina's blog.

thank goodness for my iphone! aside from taking daily shots with instagram, i'm loving taking screen shots of facebook, twitter and other apps. they are the perfect little size to print off and fit in the small pockets (although, that twitter pocket is a screen shot from the laptop). i'm also printing off tv show posters and book covers to remember what we were watching and reading throughout the month.

detail of an anthropologie price tag and gift card on top of patterns that i found online and printed off on card stock.

i need to find a better spot to take photos of my pages, though. my apartment is so dark in the winter.

i am completely in love with these printed off screen shots of pinterest. in LOVE i tell you.

project life is awesome. if you've been thinking about starting it, do it! you won't regret it. promise.

+++++++

and if you need more inspiration, i've been pinning pages that i like and i even made a little treasury on etsy of fun products to add to your book. enjoy!
